Cisco Galway Lighting upgrade

Waveguide recently completed a full turnkey lighting upgrade at Cisco's HQ in Oranmore, Galway

Waveguide's electricians replaced all internal traditional luminaires with new LED luminaires throughout all 4 floors. This included new emergency lighting and control systems.

A total of 1580 units were supplied, installed, and commissioned, generating energy savings in excess of 70% across the building.

This included any necessary re-wiring in order to comply with current regulations. This produced many benefits for our client; from reducing energy costs to allowing the client to enjoy a more aesthetically pleasing distribution of light and a piece of mind with little or no maintenance for many years.

A full new standalone Emergency Lighting System was also installed and commissioned, to bring building up to the latest IS 3217: 2013 standards. This will ensure the emergency lighting system will kick in when the standard supply fails, keeping the building compliant with health and safety regulations, and allows safe exit from the building in the event of failure of normal supply.

A full new lighting control system was installed which included new LCM's, PIR's and scene-setting controllers in all meeting rooms across the building. This allows the client to adapt the lighting to suit their needs. In the underground car park, Waveguide installed LED Damp-proof luminaires complete with switch dim operation on the sensors to maximise energy savings when unoccupied.

A 12 weeks program was allowed to complete this project, but with reduced staff inside the building, and ensure the COVID 19 safety and precautionary measures were in place, this allowed Waveguide to complete work in normal hours and in just over 6 weeks.
